PopClip overview
PopClip puts Cut, Copy and Paste (and more!) at your fingertips, with a popover menu which appears when you select text.
PopClip for Mac allows you to have Cut, Copy, and Paste at your fingertips amongst many other features. PopClip appears when you select text with your mouse on your Mac.
How to use it:

What’s new in version 2025.9
- Full support for macOS 26 Tahoe.
- The minimum system requirement is now macOS 11 Big Sur.
- A completely new settings window, no longer attached to the menu bar.
- The menu bar icon now opens as a standard macOS menu instead of a custom popover, which eliminates issues with menu bar manager apps such as Bartender.
- All functions in the menu bar are duplicated in the settings window (including Quit), so you can now hide the menu bar icon permanently and not lose any functionality. Open the Settings window at any time by relaunching PopClip (from Finder, Spotlight, etc.).
- The “On/Off” setting is renamed as “Appear automatically” to more accurately indicate its effect. Many users did not know that PopClip can still be made to appear when “Off” via the keyboard shortcut or AppleScript trigger, so I hope this will help clarify the overall app logic.
- A subtle update to the appearance of the PopClip bar, using the “vibrancy” effect in the background, both to modernise the look and to improve legibility.
- A much improved software update flow, with a proper “Check for updates” command (finally!), unobtrusive notifications in the settings window (no sudden pop-ups), and a new, opt-in, “Install automatically” option.
- Other refinements for a more comfortable experience.
- Option to exclude specific website domains or addresses, in supported browsers.
- Option to exclude all apps by default and only include chosen apps.
- Better support for browsers: Dia, Quark, Vivaldi Snapshot, Zen.
- Compatible with latest version of Anki.

Latest update (2019.9.1) STILL doesn't fix the runaway CPU issue I mentioned below in Nov. 2017: "After copying and pasting a huge block of text, within seconds CPU usage climbs to over 99% and the fans start racing. The only way to stop it is to quit the app, then it can be reopened." Dev. was able to reproduce the problem and has known about it for approx. 27 months. WTH has he been doing the past 2 years? Nothing in this update but a HS bug fix.
